Really good food and service. They do know how to cook and the environment overall is very welcoming and beautiful. This is my go to restaurant when I am in New York.

Solid Bengali food spot. Been coming here for a few years. The food is very affordable and easy to eat. Ordered rohu (a type of carp), goat meat stew, fried eggplant, and malaikari for dessert. Rice, salad, and daal come on the house. Really filling and generous portions. Goat pieces were bone free and not too fatty. My favorite was the rohu, which was tasty but not overpowering the flavor of the fish. The goat curry was a bit heavy and not as flavorful. The eggplant was good but served cold - wish it was warmed. Rice, salad/fixins, and daal were hearty.

I always make sure whenever we are near to Queens area, we make an extra effort to come here... this is not a fancy restaurant or some extraordinary dish but this is something you crave, your comfort food.. I have already written a details review in the past so it would be a short review we ordered Sorshe Illis - the - 5/5gravy was too good Kochur Loti Chingri - 5/5 Baigun and Alu bharta Kachki Fish - 4/5 Rice- quantity is more than enough for one. overall satisfied with the food... again won't comment on hygiene or ambiance but there are many food tours in Queens and folks do come here for their food.

Standard selection of Bangladeshi "fast food". Everything is made and in hot trays. If you want samosa, they can heat up in a microwave. They also have some small tables if you want to eat there and I saw one server but cannot comment on the service as I got everything to go and ordered at the counter. They are also attached to a small grocery store. I tried the chicken biryani and a chicken samosa. It came out to $12.52 when I paid with card. I saw a lot of people paying with cash and I wonder if they do no tax with cash. The chicken biryani was good but didn't have the heavy spices like Indian biryani does that I've come to associate with a biryani dish. The chicken samosa was BOMB! Fair warning for my low spice tolerance friends though, it is spicy. It is mild by southeast Asian standards...

As one of the most popular establishments in borough, Haat Bazaar seems to have the local stamp of approval in the budding community of Bangladeshis in Jackson Heights. They have the luxury of being both a quality eatery and frequented grocery store (#1). As a grocer, they have a number of items that are hard to find in the average supermarket. They tend to carry a great variety of South Asian items and produce and have a pretty good price for most things. It can get busy on the weekends and is generally subject to running out of stuff especially as it gets closer to the evening. They're not always going to hit it out of the park with some folks, but like any specialty place, it's always about ordering the right stuff. The haleem (goat stew) is always a must, as is any of their rice dishes but especially the pulao and biryani. The beef tehari Rock a paratha (breakfast ones are great) and finish things off with some of their tasty rosogolla for dessert. Avoid using the restroom at all costs. Service is typically quite good, but be aware that they're perpetually understaffed. Don't come in a group larger than 4 and dining in is always better than doing takeout. _______________ (#1) A format I love.

I love their chicken and vegetarian samosas ($1.50 each)!! They're stuffed with a generous amount of rich, flavorful filling, and surrounded by a thin & lightly crunchy wrapper. It was a welcome change from other shops that use a thick/doughy crust and skimp on the filling to save money. Caution coming too early in the morning: I really wanted to try their naan and other dishes, but at 11am on Sunday most of their other offerings were not yet ready.

Best Authentic Bengali food. I couldn't keep my mouth from watering at all the selections they offered. My husband and I wanted to try a bit of everything as we had heard so much about it from our friends and make sure we got a full experience. We decided on daal bhorta, tomato bhorta, and aloo bhorta - they were all delicious. I preferred the tomato and aloo and my husband preferred the daal and tomato. Taste buds! We settled on the goru mongsho tehari which had an amazing fragrance to it and the spice level was perfect. We also had a chicken chop each, very delicious. Then we also decided to have chicken curry and keski mach. Both were superb. The spice level was on point for every piece. The waitstaff was nice, they're busy and down to business. Then we finished off the meal with a proper cha. It had excellent liquor, good taste, and perfectly sugared. We've gone back several times, each time we're in NY, and are never disappointed. Just so people know, if you're not familiar with Bengali or South Asian style eateries, this isn't your IHOP, Friendly's, or American style restaurant like that. It's a clean place! Don't be discouraged that it's joined with a market! The food is AMAZING! Also, it's best to pay cash if you can, they do take cards but, cash is best.
